The Secret of A Happy Day

The Secret of A Happy Day
by Frances Ridley Havergal
"Just to let thy Father do
What He will;
Just to know thta he is true
And be still.
Just to follow hour by hour
As He leadeth;
Just to draw the moment's power
As it needeth.
Just to trust Him, this is all!
Then the day will surely be
Peaceful, whatso'er befall,
Bright and blessed, calm and free.
Just to let Him speak to thee
Through his word,
Watching that his voice may be
Clearly heard.
Just to tell Him every thing
As it rises,
And at once to him to bring
All suprises.
Just to listen, and to stay
Where you cannot miss His voice,
This is all! and thus to-day,
Communing, you shall rejoice."

From the book entitled,

" Poems with Power To Stengthen The Soul" compiled by James Mudge.
Only the first 2 stanzas of the poem.
I will post the rest over the next few days.
In Christ,
Rebecca

Those words brought tears to my eyes... it's been a difficult day today and I needed that line. And "Just to tell Him everything As it rises.." Thank you so much for posting this. :-)

thank you Bess!

I checked out your blog and I totally agree I need to step away from the blog world more often sometimes and check myself. Am I neglecting other things I could be doing for the Lord and my family, instead of using my time to be reading blogs. :)

God bless!

Hello, Becca! That poem is beautiful. And, as Melanie said, I needed it. Thanks for posting and sharing Christ with all of us who need Him everyday.

Blessings,
Jenn

P.S. I love your blog's music :)

Yes, I set one up for Mother. I suppose I ought to do one for myself, too :)
