New Song

Hey everyone!

Finally after a long long wait here is a song I wrote and I was inspired my Song of Solomon 2:2 which says, " As a lily among brambles, so is my love among the young women."
I was also being tempted by Satan today to give into self pity and sin, so that was another inspiration for this song. I literally needed to cry out to God to help me to be set apart as His and not Satans.

Lyrics-
verse 1
I cry out to the Lord, my God!
For He forgives my sins.
For He rescued me from the tempations of the roaring Lion.
He found me in my self pity, darkness, and sins.
Chorus
Then I knew He chose me as His Lily!
To be set apart from the brambles!
And be His eternally for His own!

Please do not take the lyrics or melody! Its all my own work and I would really appreciate it. :) Hopefully someday it will be copyrighted in my own name. :) I hope you all enjoyed it! its in G Major for those who are musical or interested! One of my favorite happy keys and the end piano accompanment is actually the melody I played for you all in my last piano solo video. So yes Danielle I have decided to use it as a piano accompanment for this song. Praise the Lord He is working all the music together for His glory! I am so excited about this song, as its the best I think I have ever written where there is a definate lyric and a defiante piano accompanment.

God bless everyone and feedback positive or negative is appreciated. Just please give your feedback in a kind and Christ like way.

In Christ,
Rebecca

Super Natural Everyday

Hey everyone,

I know I have been in a blogging slump for a while not really knowing what to post about since so much is going on and its hard to choose a topic to post about. I thought why not talk about something I enjoy, cooking and baking! :)

I have rediscovered the book Super Natural Everday Day by Heidi Swanson as I looked around the kitchen for some new ideas of what to eat for breakfasts and lunch. Today I made a favorite of mine from her book called the Open Face Egg salad sandwhich. I will share with you my version of this wonderful idea. When you have tons of eggs as we do right now they need to be used in the best ways possible and I believe that means, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, egg salad and much more. :)

My recipe for Egg Salad

6 brown eggs
2 tablespoons dried or fresh chives for color
1/2 mayo (homemade if desired)
1/2 teaspoon of salt

I boil my eggs for 10 minutes and then I put them immediately into a bowl of ice cold water. Then I let them sit for 10 more minutes to cool down. Then I peal my eggs carefully and then I rinse all the little tiny egg shell peices off of them. Then I mash the eggs in a bowl and add my mayo, chives, and salt. Sometimes I do not add salt depending on how it tastes.
I love to put my egg salad on a nice peice of whole wheat honey bread I have made or on crackers. Its even good on pita or by itself. Whatever you have on hand use it. Lots of recipes for egg salad add lots of different things I did not have, so I have concocted this version that is easy and with things I had on hand.

I also tried her really yummy millet whole wheat muffins last week and was pleasantly surprised. I can't share the recipe with you, but I will share photos. :)

I put them with yummy scrambled eggs done in my good old cast iron skillet and some purple grapes. My sister, mother and I loved them with butter on top. So if you want healthy cookbook that is also full of deliciousness get Heidi's book Super Natural Everday. I guess I sound like a commercial, but its so great. :)

Have a great rest of your Tuesday everyone!
In Christ,
Rebecca

Latest piano composition

Hey friends!

I know its been a long wait, but finally I am uploading a video of me playing the piano for your enjoyment. I have had a terrible cough and been stuffed up real bad this week, so no singing for this video. But I promise to get a video of me playing and singing another song I have written soon. This song still does not have a title and this is just me playing around. I have written down the melody line which you can hear me play throughout the peice quite often, but still am playing around with what should be put into the rest of the song. There are mistakes and mess ups, but I hope you enjoy. :) I was inspired by David Nevue and I love his music! The composition is my own, I was inspired to sit down and write a piano arrangement today because of his beautiful piano arrangements. You can listen to him for free at Pandora .

Enjoy the video and don't feel like you need to watch the whole thing to get the idea. :) Its pretty long. haha

Rebecca

Come and Rest in Christ

I was listening to this song tonight realizing again that I cannot rest in netflix movies, the satisfaction of getting music theory homework done, or this life, I can only rest in Christ!

Psalm 25: 13-14 " The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and he makes known to them his covenant. My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he will pluck my feet out of the net."

Are your eyes ever toward the Lord?! Or are they toward the television or the boyfriend, or toward the college degree? Ladies we need to ever be looking toward our Lord for fulfillment and rest! Lay your burdens at His feet and rest and look to Him. He is the best friend you have been searching for, He is the dance partner that never leaves or tramples you under His feet, He is the one who can carry you through the storm. Look to Him!

In Christ,
Rebecca
