Thrifting introduction/Haul

Hey everyone!

I had been reading Casey's Elegant Musings( http://blog.caseybrowndesigns.com/)and loved her idea to do an introduction video to her experiences with thrifting clothing and other items. I wanted to do a video with a similar idea, except I wanted to show items I have found and tell you about why I thrift and how fun it can be and how inexpensive it is compared to shopping at the mall per say.
Oh and in case you all are wondering yes I am wearing bloomers, and no I don't believe its strange. :) I hope you all enjoy the video and please tell me if you all like this idea for thrifting videos. I can do more videos about items I get, or more detail about how to thrift. Just comment or email me at ra.stricker@gmail.com

I love thrifting because you can get clothing that is feminine and from the past when feminity was very much apart of women's clothing lines. I believe now its more about who can impress others, I believe the older styles of dresses/ skirts show strength in that women were glad they were women and rejoiced in that! Now most people want to be just clones of men. So I love finding vintage dresses or modern dresses that are a classic style! So much fun to wear and find. And so much cheaper than at modern stores. :)

Enjoy the video!

In Christ,
Rebecca

katy sue and Ginny thank you!!! I am so glad that you all enjoyed it! :) I must confess I was pretty nervous about this at first in the video, but then I remembered that who am I doing this for Jesus! I love Him so much He totally got me through the video. I will have to do more videos for you all. any specifics you loved about the video?

Ginny glad you loved the bloomers and we should do a video together sometime!!! that would be less scary maybe?!!

Your bloomers are too cute! I was just thinking about shopping at thrift stores recently because I'm spending way too much in retail. There's this lady from church who always thrift shops and took me once and I fell in love with it! but i haven't gone back since :(. My friends always shop retail so I just go with them and end up spending waaayy too much money for nothing! but thanks for the inspiring vid! I will definitely make the effort to go back to the second hand stores now!

Thank you :)

Shalom! I'm Rebekah and I have been following your blog for awhile. I wear bloomers too! They are comfy and provide extra modesty. I can climb trees and do handstands in my skirt(only I can't do either physically...)

Rebecca-capital "L" for Love....lol seriously. Thank you SO much for sharing. I would love to hear more....

$5 for jeans! WOW! I just recently found a relatively cheap pair at TJMax...God was helping me...oh, and the long shirt idea...me too! Love it.

Thank you so much for sharing! I love the dresses. Wow! :) Love!

I liked the video. It was very neat to see the "blogger come alive" so to speak. I love thrift stores but the closest one to me is overpriced and there is never anything really good. There is another I like to go to but it is far away, it always has a lot of neat things and is where I buy a lot of my clothing.

Maybe you should do a video on were the stuff in thrift stores comes from--I know I donate a lot of pretty things that no longer fit me and that my younger sister doesn't want (we have drastically different styles.)

I very much enjoyed your post and video. That was so fun! :) I agree, you did a great job in front of the camera. I hope you can do more videos some time.

I need to do some more thrifting, I have often found some nice items while doing that...not to mention books too! ;) I have a habit of collectiong pretty hard cover classics.

Thanks for the tips!

Yes everyone I plan to do another video sometime in the future. I did film one a week ago, but somehow the film did not do so well transfering to my computer. My lips don't match the sound of me talking for some reason. Otherwise I would have already posted it. But another video coming soon! :)
