Bohemian meets 1930s Outfit of the day

I am sorry in advance for the poor sound quality of the video with the wind and the lawn mowers at the end. Enjoy anyway though!

I asked the lady who made the hat if she could make it without chains like the one in her shop and she kindly obliged. So do ask if you don't want chains on the side with the bow and she can do that. I love the  big bow a lot!

 Please excuse my headphones, I was walking and wanted music to listen to.

My pashmina scarf is from a store called Compass, which is only in Texas unfortunately. The snowflake necklace from Ashley was fun to wear when the snow came and I love how it sparkles.

 My hat is from Felt Fancy's Esty shop and my necklace was given to me by Ashley from Bramblewoodfashion.

Indie Chic Outfit of the Day

Hey friends!

I have thought about where to go with my blog and what to post about. It seems I have been posting in spirts these days and not been posting regularly  I want to give you all regular posts. So I have decided Outfit of the days are one of the easiest posts for me to put together. I enjoy being creative with my dress and strive to glorify God through it. So you will be seeing more outfit posts on here. With school I have not been creating as much in the sewing department or reenacting as much as I would like. I am excited to churn out outfits from the clothing I already have in my closet. I enjoy reading other blog that focus on fashion. So here it goes, I will try to be a semi fashion blogger. :)

I have been loving my leggings this winter. I wear them with dresses, skirts, and even under jeans to keep warm. So you will be seeing these a lot! 

I bought the fushia beanie from the etsy store called Sennursasa. I wear it almost daily in the cold winter months. Its a fun color and so warm and comfy! Be sure to check out her etsy store for beautiful knitted items.

I found the denim jacket with the fur collar at a consignment store when i was shopping with a friend and I love it! My sister Bethany says its not her favorite, but I think it adds some casual charm to any outfit worn the right way. It can look frumpy with long skirts or jeans, so I wear it with more feminine dresses/skirts and it works.

I am learning The Music of the Night from the Phantom of the Opera and its so fun to sing!

Thrift Haul and Etsy Haul

I thought I would share some items I found recently over the weekend and received in the mail last week. Enjoy! You can see Geekiana's etsy shop here. The vintage slip I will be using a lot especially for World War 2 reenacting and under longer dresses/skirts. It is nylon so thats perfect for vintage accurate fashion. I also bought a dozen records. So check them out in my video! I can't wait to play the records on a record player someday.

Updated Room Tour V-log

Hey everyone!

An updated room tour for you in a video!  I got the card rack, which is actually a vintage skirt hanger from In With the Old's Etsy shop. My room is inspired by my love for all things vintage and retro as well as my modern life. Thrifting and lovely finds

I was gifted by an older women with some lovely belt buckles! I was so excited as I was the only one out of the three women in my family, my mom, sister and I who wear belts. So I got to keep all these lovlies!I had too much fun photographing them with the old tree as a great backdrop!

They came in all shapes and sizes and colors and some of them still un-used on the cards! The ones on the cards say 90 cents each! I am curious how old they are, I am thinking not very old, but still they are a treasure, as you can't find any in the stores such as these. :)

 

I was so excited when I realized that this lovely ribbon the older lady gave us would make a great belt! I loved the cheerful flower and heart design! It makes me remember my childhood. :) *unicorns and toad stools and fairies* Then I found out they were not real. :)

Anyones thoughts on this? Are the knees in some way not modest to show?! My dad does not think so, but hey some people may believe it can distract guys. Been wondering what guys and gals might think on the subject of well knees. :)

Great etsy store tool

New product in my etsy shop

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to tell you all about a new product that I am selling in my etsy shop. Which can be found here-http://www.etsy.com/shop/SingNSew

I will be posting 10 of these products over the course of the next few days. So be on the watch! :)

They are called note stations and are great gifts for friends and family or to use yourself. I myself use one at my desk a lot. Its a clear picture frame laying down with a post-it pad on top and a decorative paper in the picture frame as well as some cute embellishments on the frame. Its great to put next to your computer or phone or just have to write down important things. They are only $11.00 with shipping and come in many different colors. Have a glance in my shop!

You may be wondering how I came up with this idea. Well many years ago my mother, sister, and I were at a lovely little tea shop and we saw that someone had made something similar. We changed it a little and have been giving them as gifts, as well as selling them to friends. Now I am able to have them in my etsy shop. My mother was a dear and helped me make them up saturday when I had some spare time between studying for my up and coming clep exam on the 29th as well as song writing. Lord willing I will be posting some videos of me singing some new songs I have written soon. Probably not for a few weeks though as I have to borrow a friends camera because mine does not have video ability. I realize thats weird, but it does not!

Remix Days 19,20, and 21

Hey everyone!

Once again its been quite busy over here in my part of the woods. :) I played the piano for the service at church on Sunday morning, we had a lovely family over for Sunday dinner and fellowship, and to end the Sabbath we celebrated as a young woman at our church was baptized! It was a joyful Sabbath and the Lord really showed me lots of new things I needed to learn from the Word as well as relying on Him for our every need. Yes every need! Your fridge will not always be full and you might not always have clothing, I am blessed to have an abundance of both for our family. But I am praying to Him to keep providing both.

for Sunday service and I changed into the blouse and sweater below for the evening. I was quite warm in my wool sweater and wanted to change that. Cotton is much better for staying cool! :)

 I did not wear my hair this way and I already had taken my jewlery off that matched outfit! Oh well! I almost forgot to do the photo and these are not that great, but hey! this is real life and this is what I wore. :)

Yesterday and today I wore the same outfit. Usually when I am not doing the 30 day challenge remix I wear an outfit 2 days in a row. I decided it would not be a sin to do so for my own convenience this one time. :) My sister and I went to Mt. Vernon yesterday with some friends and it was a great time. I had to dress warm, so I wore my felt hat and wool skirt along with my wool coat. I even shoveled the drive way and side walk this morning in this outfit! :) It was quite warm and it made it more fun to shovel while dressing feminine.

New Sunshine and Posy post holders!

So these pot holders in are in the etsy store! They are happy and quite cheery in this winter weather and cold!

Travel zipper pouches

Hey everyone!

Today I made some cute zipper pouch bags for my sister and I to use on our trip we are going on thursday. I used this tutorial and added my own twist to my big pouch and even did different diminsions and instructions than this person. But they were my inspiration.

I'm working towards the opening.....

of the etsy store this week. I am so sorry its not been up yet! We have had some complications that I did not anticipate with getting me my own bank account. So I will definately let you all know on here when its officially opened! Here is what I was doing today for a special sneak peek.

What I have been up to lately.....

crocheting, knitting, and sewing up a storm thats what I have been doing! Now that we have a functional craft/sewing room I love sewing in there!

 So bookmarks for my etsy store have been done with cotten yarns that are vintage.
                                     
 I also received an antique book from my parents for Christmas that is a book of biographies and quotes from women of the past. Its wonderful and I want to republish it someday. Its from 1856.

 You can see that the bookmarks work nicely in this little volume.

 Coasters will also be available in the etsy store soon.

 And there are more styles coming along that will be a suprise in the coasters. I have my own little inventory shelf in our craft room for all these items that will be for sale. :)

 What my family has been up to a lot lately! We are game people! We love playing games in the evenings and this one is a new favorite. Its called Qwircle and is for 4 players, so big families this may not be a favorite unless you do teams. We are a family of 4. Its so easy even your little ones who are 4 or 5 could play.

 I also made some cloth bins for all my new yarn that is for my shop to crochet and knit up some pretties.

 Josh Groban has been a big help to keep me on task and helped me to be calm while studying for my clep exam for US History 1 on thursday. Pray for me if you remember, its at 3pm eastern time I will be doing the exam. I am at peace because I passed my practice exam today though! Praise the Lord!
