Vintage Style Weekend Trip Part 1

Hi Readers! My family and I have gone to PA and back for a weekend trip. We first stopped for dinner the first night at lovely 50's style diner in Lancaster, PA called DJ's Diner.

I was so intrigued when we passed by it on the way to our hotel that I said, "Please Dad can we eat there?!!!" I then grinned widely. :) Of course, all of us thought hamburgers and milk shakes sounded amazing so we stopped and boy were we in for a real treat!

DJ's is not a chain and is a christian joint. There goal is to have a place where people can good homecooking 50's style and take the time to focus on the Lord while doing it. They even have a prayer building in the back of the joint for anyone to go to and take time to pray and focus on the Lord. Isn't that cool?! I think its awesome and really needed these days! Most people, including myself forget to take the time to spend time in the prayer closet with the Lord these days.

I loved all the coke-a-cola themed memorabilia and red and blue theme all around the joint. They even had 50's music playing while we were there and the waitresses dressed in 50's circle skirts and pony tails.
My Dad and I laughing while my mother was taking this picture. :)

My mother on the right and our good friend Marianne enjoying themselves too.

And to end a chocolate shake my dad and I shared. Yes it was ok, but I have had better actually. I have to say though their cokes were real cokes with real bubbles instead of the flat stuff I tend to end of drinking for some reason whenever I drink the drink. I love mine fizzy and strong, not flat and syrupy. :) I am particular. lol

I will post pictures next of the World War 2 reenactment we attended today. Stay tuned!

God bless,
Rebecca

Rainy Day OOTD

Hi everyone!

I did a video during Hurricane Sandy of me in the rain in my rainy day outfit. I thrifted this black wool coat back in the Spring when it definitely was not cold. :) I was surprised and excited to find the coat when a young woman brought out a new rack of donated clothing at my local Goodwill. It must have been a peacoat meant for me.

Anyways Enjoy the video and I am glad to receive some feedback in my last post that you all enjoy videos a lot. Please more readers give me more feedback on this! Do you like Outfit of the Day posts in video or picture form? I would really appreciate that and enjoy reading your comments.

God bless,

Hey readers!

I thought since you all seemed to enjoy my outfits from the doctor who blog party i would post a real everyday outfit I wore this week. I absolutely love color and the day I wore this outfit I was in a sunny mood midst all the storms in my area on the east coat. I am praying for everyone who is involved with the storm and who may have lost loved ones, homes, and power. I praise God my family only lost power for a short time and got it back quickly.

Earrings- Avon gift from my Mom
Black necklace- forever 21
Yellow tank- Kohls
Black top- Gap brand via local consignment boutique
Yellow sweater- J.C. Penny
Posy skirt- made by my sister Bethany
Black belt- local thrift store

When I was taking these pictures I was so excited that my camera was taking alright pictures I could not help smiling. :) Usually self timer photos can be ackward, but I had fun this time around.

Definitely let me know if you all like picture stills compared to vlog/OOTD videos. I enjoy doing both for you all, but I find I myself enjoy vlogs/videos better.

I also was just amazed at how God has been orchestrating my life and in awe of His blessings. He is so so good even in hard times.

God bless!

Decopage Project

Hi readers! I was very improv and decided to go ahead and decopage my dresser top Sunday. I had been thinking about doing it for a few weeks. But I was not sure how to decopage and what I would decopage onto my dresser. At first I thought I would do old book pages or hymnal pages, but then I realized I had this old flower book and I used these colored pictures instead.

I bought the flower book at thrift store during the summer when I went with my sister for less an a dollar I think. It was a book about flowers and how they grow and such for kids from the 60s or 70s I think. I love how the dresser top turned out!

I just used elmers blue and water to make a thick paste and I watched some videos on youtube on how to do it. I could not find the video I watched on how to make the paste out of glue and water. Sorry!

So yes my dream of a decopaged dresser is complete! :) Now I want to decopage my book shelves too. Its addicting! :)

Blessings,
Rebecca

Closet Organization/Tour

Hi Ya'll!

I was inspired by other bloggers and Youtube channels to do a closet tour/video of organization tips and tricks. I loved watching Ashley of Bramblewood fashion's and Olivia of Fresh Modesty's tours and tips and tricks. Do check those out too! I hope this video is helpful in organizing your closets. I have found youtube videos so helpful in choosing how to finally get mine how I like it for fast morning getting ready, instead of sifting through junk piled every which way. :)

Donna Inspired Outfit Of the Day

Hey ya'll! I was combing through photos of Donna on Google and remembered why I liked her so much! :) She is beautiful and funny and her style is really fun. I love all the colors she wears! I was inspired by her fushia top below as I have two tops similar to that one. Mine are not exact, but similar. I also loved her sweater below and happen to own a grey one. So I did both the top and the sweater together yesterday with black jeans for a different, but similar look to Donna.

I also figured out an idea for the Doctor's real name. ;) I looked up a name that meant unkown and found the indian name Aayan. Maybe thats his name?! Its not that epic, but it sounds cool anyway.
Any ideas on what you think his real name might be? Comment below.

I also love her big necklce! She looks really good in cool colors for some reason, maybe this actresses hair is not really strawberry blonde?! :) I was trying to figure out if she was a winter or a summer or neither. Any color be beautiful fans have some ideas?

I Can Do All Things Through Christ

I love this song! I recently found this lovely groups youtube channel and I am being blessed by their Scripture based music.

Now I believe this verse in the Bible has been twisted a lot for people to use to give ground for life styles that do not please God. I believe we need to look at the verse in context and not out of context. I don't think we should say, Lord I know I can do everything through you so help me to be able to get into a relationship with "Jack" so I can be happy. No no no! Lets have a look at the whole chapter 4 of Philippians to see what Paul is talking about here exactly by saying, " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

"I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord. Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit."

(Philippians 4:2-23 ESV)

He is talking about the church at Philipi here and is exhorting them to realize that they can rejoice in any and all circumstances just like he has. He rejoiced when he had little and much and realized that in any life circumstance he could still rejoice ,because of Jesus Christ. So he saying here that in any circumstance he can do whatever the Lord would have him to do through Christ who gives him strength. So no I don't think God would give you strength to kill someone or commit adultery  because those two things are contrary to Gods commandments to His children to turn away from evil and do good.

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated! I love discussions too on how you interpret the verses or what God has shown you as you do all things through Him. Comment away! :)

God bless,
Rebecca
