Decopage Project
Hi readers! I was very improv and decided to go ahead and decopage my dresser top Sunday. I had been thinking about doing it for a few weeks. But I was not sure how to decopage and what I would decopage onto my dresser. At first I thought I would do old book pages or hymnal pages, but then I realized I had this old flower book and I used these colored pictures instead.
I bought the flower book at thrift store during the summer when I went with my sister for less an a dollar I think. It was a book about flowers and how they grow and such for kids from the 60s or 70s I think. I love how the dresser top turned out!
I just used elmers blue and water to make a thick paste and I watched some videos on youtube on how to do it. I could not find the video I watched on how to make the paste out of glue and water. Sorry!
So yes my dream of a decopaged dresser is complete! :) Now I want to decopage my book shelves too. Its addicting! :)

Rebecca

Closet Organization/Tour
I was inspired by other bloggers and Youtube channels to do a closet tour/video of organization tips and tricks. I loved watching Ashley of Bramblewood fashion's and Olivia of Fresh Modesty's tours and tips and tricks. Do check those out too! I hope this video is helpful in organizing your closets. I have found youtube videos so helpful in choosing how to finally get mine how I like it for fast morning getting ready, instead of sifting through junk piled every which way. :)

Donna Inspired Outfit Of the Day
Hey ya'll! I was combing through photos of Donna on Google and remembered why I liked her so much! :) She is beautiful and funny and her style is really fun. I love all the colors she wears! I was inspired by her fushia top below as I have two tops similar to that one. Mine are not exact, but similar. I also loved her sweater below and happen to own a grey one. So I did both the top and the sweater together yesterday with black jeans for a different, but similar look to Donna.

I also figured out an idea for the Doctor's real name. ;) I looked up a name that meant unkown and found the indian name Aayan. Maybe thats his name?! Its not that epic, but it sounds cool anyway.
Any ideas on what you think his real name might be? Comment below.
photo credit I also love her big necklce! She looks really good in cool colors for some reason, maybe this actresses hair is not really strawberry blonde?! :) I was trying to figure out if she was a winter or a summer or neither. Any color be beautiful fans have some ideas? God bless! Rebecca |

I Can Do All Things Through Christ
I love this song! I recently found this lovely groups youtube channel and I am being blessed by their Scripture based music.
Now I believe this verse in the Bible has been twisted a lot for people to use to give ground for life styles that do not please God. I believe we need to look at the verse in context and not out of context. I don't think we should say, Lord I know I can do everything through you so help me to be able to get into a relationship with "Jack" so I can be happy. No no no! Lets have a look at the whole chapter 4 of Philippians to see what Paul is talking about here exactly by saying, " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
"I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord. Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit."
(Philippians 4:2-23 ESV)
He is talking about the church at Philipi here and is exhorting them to realize that they can rejoice in any and all circumstances just like he has. He rejoiced when he had little and much and realized that in any life circumstance he could still rejoice ,because of Jesus Christ. So he saying here that in any circumstance he can do whatever the Lord would have him to do through Christ who gives him strength. So no I don't think God would give you strength to kill someone or commit adultery because those two things are contrary to Gods commandments to His children to turn away from evil and do good.
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated! I love discussions too on how you interpret the verses or what God has shown you as you do all things through Him. Comment away! :)
God bless,
Rebecca
The Steadfast Love of the Lord Never Ceases
I was reading Psalm 40 and when I read again how the love of the Lord is steadfast and never ceases I wanted to listen to that in a song. I youtubed it and this song came up. I love it! Thank you Lord for your faithfulness and steadfast love Lord!
I waited patiently for the LORD;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the LORD.
Blessed is the man who makes
the LORD his trust,
who does not turn to the proud,
to those who go astray after a lie!
You have multiplied, O LORD my God,
your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us;
none can compare with you!
I will proclaim and tell of them,
yet they are more than can be told.
In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted,
but you have given me an open ear.
Burnt offering and sin offering
you have not required.
Then I said, “Behold, I have come;
in the scroll of the book it is written of me:
I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart.”
I have told the glad news of deliverance
in the great congregation;
behold, I have not restrained my lips,
as you know, O LORD.
I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart;
I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation;
I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness
from the great congregation.
As for you, O LORD, you will not restrain
your mercy from me;
your steadfast love and your faithfulness will
ever preserve me!
For evils have encompassed me
beyond number;
my iniquities have overtaken me,
and I cannot see;
they are more than the hairs of my head;
my heart fails me.
Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me!
O LORD, make haste to help me!
Let those be put to shame and disappointed altogether
who seek to snatch away my life;
let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
who delight in my hurt!
Let those be appalled because of their shame
who say to me, “Aha, Aha!”
But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation
say continually, “Great is the LORD!”
As for me, I am poor and needy,
but the Lord takes thought for me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
do not delay, O my God!
(Psalm 40 ESV)
Today when I went to the dentist I had a very interesting conversation with my dentist. She is catholic, which I did not realize, I thought she was an atheist. She asked why she had not seen me for a while, I told her it was because my Grandpa had passed and our family had a lot of schedule changes with the funeral and all that. She understood, but she was surprised when I told her," I am so blessed that He was a christian and loved the Lord, so I will see him again in heaven." The dentist said, " Oh yes I believe I will see my loved ones in heaven too." Then she told me something like, " But I don't believe that just us Christians are going to heaven, I believe my friends won't be damned if they are not Christians I believe there is a separate heaven for them and if they are a good person they are going to heaven and not hell." I was really surprised, but at the same time not surprised she believed that good people can get into heaven. The problem with that is we all are not good people, we are sinners. I told her," I believe that even us Christians are not good people, we are sinners. Its only because Jesus saved us we can be in heaven." Then she said, " Sure, but I still think my friends even if they believe something different will be in heaven."
It truly was an enlightening conversation. I pray that I was a witness, as I don't believe I am a good person, its only because Jesus lives in me now that I am saved by His blood that I have even a drop of good in me.
Any thoughts on this? What would you have said to my dentist? I could not say much to her, as she had her hands in my mouth half the time. ;)
God bless,
Rebecca

River Song Inspired Outfit of the Day
Hey Ya'll! This outfit is inspired by the infamous RiverSong and no I don't want to be like her in regards to her role/personality in the Doctor Who tv show. :) I just wanted to clear that up! I could say a lot about what I don't like about her character but I will refrain. ;)
photo credit |
I decided I would not do jeans on the bottom because I just did not feel like jeans. :) I paired the top and jacket with black instead. And yes I did not have a gun or a holster so the photo above might be kind of lame, but whatever. :) My dad said after the fact of me taking these pictures I could use his hand gun for pictures in the future. :) I will be posting pictures with the gun and another RiverSong inspired outfit Saturday. So be on the look out!
The Denim jacket- thrifted
black skirt- thrifted
white blouse- thrifted
black boots- Payless
watch necklace- gift from Hannah S.
black beaded necklace- gift from Mum
See you all around and be sure to participate or read all the posts for the doctor who blog party! Check it all out at Ashley's blog and Natasha's blog!

Doctor/Martha Inspired OOTD
I realized that my outfit of the day inspiration for the black peacoat/trench was from the actor Matt Smith from his real life wardrobe. :) Oh well! I really like his sense of style and the coat is pretty awesome. It reminds me of something Sherlock would wear. :) Anybody out there like Sherlock? I love that show too.
photo credit |
I feel stupid and silly thinking Martha wears ethnic clothing! ;) Maybe she does in one episode where I believe they are in India. I just could not find any pictures or screen shots of the outfit I was remembering in my head. Oh well! I still wanted to share this outfit because I love it and it was fun to wear. I hope the blog party is fun and all the whovians are getting their fill of doctorness. ;)

Doctor 11 Inspired Outfit of the Day
Hi ya'll! I was totally inspired by the 11th doctor in the episode with the american western theme. I received a australian hat from my grandmother that was a my late grandpa's and I thought it fit the bill. :) I also had a wool plaid jacket from Unique thrift store that I love and I thought it was the perfect feminine version of his wool jacket in that episode.
Picture source |
I should have done a blue bow tie and jeans instead of the skirt, but I wanted to do a more feminine version of this outfit. :) The skirt is thrifted from goodwill and it has cool cut outs at the bottom.
The hat is from my grandpa, the boots are from payless, the button down top is from my local thrift store, the jacket is from another thrift store, and the necklaces were gifts.
I quite like the black and white outfit without the hat and jacket too. ;) I wore this out to dinner with my family without the jacket.
Thanks to Mom and Hannah S. for the necklaces! I use them a lot. I always get compliments Hannah on the watch necklace, people always ask where I got it. :)
God bless,
Rebecca

Doctor Who blog party Q's
|the questions|
1| If you decided to name your first born child after any Doctor Who character, male or female, who would it be? I love the name Melody, so I think I would definitely steal River Song's given name Melody for a girl.
2| What is your favourite colour of the Doctor's shoes? I guess his red converse, I also like the black ones he wears once too though.
3| Look around yourself and name the one thing that is TARDIS blue in your house! One of my glass necklaces, oh I am inspired! I should wear that necklace for the party this week. ;)
4| If you could pick who plays the Twelfth Doctor which actor would you choose and why? I had to look up his name because I did not know his real name, but maybe Benedict Cumberbatch who play Sherlock Holmes in the BBC tv show called Sherlock. He would definitely have to play into his humorous side more with doctor who, but I think it might work. What do you all think about him playing the doctor?
5| The Doctor is going back in time again, which historical era should he visit? hmmmm..... Probably the renaissance era, it would be so fun to see all the art and music that everyone loves being created!
6| Would you REALLY go with the Doctor in the TARDIS? I think I definitely would be tempted, but I don't think I would and if I did it would only be for a day or so as I know I would miss real life and my family and friends.
7| Who's your favorite Doctor and why? David Tennant, because he is just so brilliant in how he interrupts the doctor, he not overly funny and he is not overly smart and he is not over powering in his arrogance. So yeah I love the way David Tennant interrupts the doctors character. :)
8| Would you be afraid to spend Christmas in London? No, I don't believe in aliens. ;)
9| Do you look at an ordinary screwdriver and think 'this could be a bit more sonic?' No.
10| Angel statues, plastic mannequins, Christmas trees - what ordinary everyday object would you love to make an object of terror to Whovians were you Steven Moffat? The first thing that popped into my head was toilets and that sounds really weird I know, but it could be funny.
11| The TARDIS lands in your garden and the Doctor steps out. What is the first thing you say to him? Where have you been all my life?! :)
12| Who is your favorite actor who has played the Doctor so far and why? David Tennant, as I stated above because of his great interrprutation of the doctor and also I love his outfits too. I love his converse shoes, trench coats, and glasses. I think glasses really make him look smart and are a good fit for the doctor.
13| Have you seen any Classic Doctor Who? If so, which Doctor/episode(s) is your favorite? No.
14| Which are the creepiest, scariest and all-out meanest baddies in all the Who-niverse? hmmmm... I will no comb through all the episodes on netflix to find their name, but I can describe them. :) I read others answers and found the name. :) I know I guess thats cheating. Well I wanted to answer the answer, but could not remember their name. The Silence! They are creepy!!!!!!
15| Who is/are your favorite Companion(s) and why? Amy Pond, because I love her personality, she is funny and I love her accent as well also she has that strawberry blonde hair that looks awesome with all her outfits. I also love Rory and that they actually get married and love each other. Its cute!
16| Did you cry more watching Doomsday or The Angels Take Manhattan? haha I don't think I did watching either. :)
17| What is your favorite quote from the show? hmmmm.... doesn't the 10th doctor played by David Tennant say "Brilliant!" a lot. I like that even if they don't actually say that a lot. :) The word brilliant reminds me of the doctor.
18| Which Doctor (including all previous regenerations) would you most like to be the companion of, and why? David Tennant, I know I keep on saying David, but I really like his acting the best out of the 9th,10th, and 11th doctors. I have not seen any of the vintage doctor who shows.
19| Which of the following are you more scared of, the Daleks, Cybermen, or the Weeping Angles? Weeping Angels definitely!
20| Who are some of your favorite guest stars in the series? I don't remember the actor's name but I love Captain Jack, in doctor who only. I really was disgusted with the language and content in the show called TorchWood. I highly don't recommend it! We turned it off when we were watching the first episode. It was nothing like Doctor Who, I think it must have been different screen writers.
21| What was your first experience with Doctor Who and how did you hear about the series? I first heard of the series when my Dad used to watch it when we had cable on the Sci-fi channel when I was 12. I thought it was weird at first, but when I got older as a teen I really liked it. :) Now I love the show!
22| The Ninth Doctor said, 'Fantastic!', Ten said, 'Allons-y', and Eleven says, 'Geronimo'; what would you like to be the signature exclamation of the Twelfth Doctor? Brilliant! Well I think David Tennant says that a lot already when he is the doctor.
23| If you were trapped in an episode, which one would it be? The only period I can think of that I love and is in a later episode is when the doctor takes Rory and Amy to the 1870s I believe and they get all dressed up in the period clothing. I would die if I got to live back then for a few hours! :)
24| Which is your favorite episode with each Doctor (Nine, Ten and Eleven)? I have no idea! haha I am not so obsessed to remember and I don't have a visual memory so its hard for me to remember them, but I will try. With the 9th doctor really like the first episode I guess when Rose first meets him, with David Tennant thats really hard, maybe the episode where he first meets river song, and with matt smith probably the episode where Amy is blind for a bit, I am not sure episode names on those. Sorry!
25| After watching a certain Doctor Who episode, did you summon up the courage to try fish sticks and custard? Uh, no way! Gross! haha
Make sure to go over to Tasha's blog to link up to the blog party if you did the questions too!
This is so so fun! Now I want to go to the Doctor Who conference that is in England each year. ;) I am such a geek! haha
God bless,

Amy Pond and Martha Inspired OOTD
Hey ya'll! I hope your day is going well and if its not you can relax a little and have fun watching my video and seeing everyone else's fun outfits and doctor inspired blog posts. Today my outfit is inspired by Amy Pond and Martha, two of the characters in the tv show called Doctor Who. The trench coat I think is also more something the doctor would wear, but of course its a ladies version. I felt very british wearing this coat the other day when I did this video. :) Where's my cup of tea now?
photo credit |
I think my trench looks similar to the one Martha is wearing above and my hair is inspired by that hairstyle as well.
photo credit I was also inspired by Amy's beautiful outfit above and I would love to own her trench coat too! Its such a pretty color on her! |

As I Once Again talk about....
a very controversial and heart stopping topic. Slavery and the sex trade which is still happening all over the world in case you did not already know. I was made aware on facebook about this new movie that is currently in theaters and it caught my attention. I have not seen the movie, but I have seen the trailer and it looks very eye opening. I remember first finding out about slavery and the sex trade when I was a young teen when I went to a youth conference in Leipzig Germany with my sister and parents and church group. I was shocked and horrified at what was happening all over the world and not just in the foreign countries, even in the USA.
Please proceed with caution, please ask your parents before you watch this if you are under 18, there is no graphic images, but there is violence in the trailer. Thanks! The movie is called Trade of Innocents and is only showing in limited theaters, so if its in your city go see it! :)
Their website and facebook page also have lots of good information about the movie and the producers story about why he decided to make the film. I would not normally post about this issue, but its a real issue and it needs to end and I pray to the Lord it does in my life time.
God bless!

Contemplating God
Hi Ya'll!
I decided to do a vlog of my thoughts about the Savior Jesus Christ the Lord this morning after being convicted by Him that He is real and has created this universe for His glory. By no means am I perfect, I am a sinner saved grace and please do ponder all that I say and go to the WORD of God and not me for answers to- who created the world?, is God real? etc.
" I waited patiently for the LORD;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the LORD."
(Psalm 40:1-3 ESV)
I pray the video points to Christ!
Blessings, Rebecca

A little More About my Beliefs and Convictions
Hey Ya'll,
I was just reading over an This Birthday Post from almost 3 years ago from when I was 19 and had just graduated from homeschool high school and I was not sure where the Lord wanted me that new year in regards to education. I see now that I said some things in that post I have not kept up with doing on this blog. I want to start putting the music I am studying in the side bar each week. So I will try and do that when I get a chance. But I also noticed something very alarming from this post.
I thought I had just been saved 2 years prior to my 19th b-day. I just wanted to clear up for my own good and for my readers that I believe in justification and sanctification. I do not believe that I was not saved when I was 7 years old and I was baptized. I believe that right there in that moment when I heard the pastor ask anyone to come forward who wanted to except Christ as their Savior, when I asked Jesus to be the Lord of my life He was then the Lord of my life. I was no longer a child of the world, but Gods child fully redeemed by Christs blood. I believe you can only be saved from your sin by Christ having died on the cross and you believing that He endured the penalty for your sin and now has become alive again and lives. Then the fruit of accepting Him as your Savior is wanting to live by listening to His Spirit more and more which is sanctification.
I will just give a little definition in my own words for sanctification and justification. I am not a person with many degrees or a doctorates in the Bible, but this is what I believe these two words mean. Please do add in your two cents or if I am wrong in my definition please do chime in! :) I mean that. This blog is a place for us all to grow in our understanding of God, so yeah. :) But please do so kindly and in a Christ like manner.
I believe Justification is when we are saved by Christ, that moment we realize our sin is so big that we cannot save ourselves and God says to us I have saved you from your sin by the blood of my beloved Son who was killed and rose again for your sins. And you accept that Christ has done what you or anyone else could not do by enduring the pain of the cross to make up pure and unstained from sin. Of course we still have these sinful bodies, we will not be given new bodies till we go to be with the Lord, but that's when sanctification comes in for each saved Believer in Christ.
Then I believe after we are saved/justified we are being made more and more like Christ for as long as we are alive on this earth. The process of Sanctification is the process of our old selves, our sinful nature becoming less and less prominent and God encompassing us so that we are more and more like Him and long more and more for Him and to do His commandments and follow His leading and not our own wisdom. When we are justified/saved we are given the Helper, who is the Holy Spirit to help us listen to God and therefore become more and more like Christ.
I have been very encouraged by passages like John 14. In these verses Jesus says,“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you."
-John 14:15-17 ESV
So yes I believe that we are living under a Tri-God, one that is made up of three distinct persons, The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. So yes I believe that every Christian who is saved by faith in Jesus Christ has the Comforter, helper, who is the Holy Spirit, and the Father and the Son also are watching over us.
So if this is a shocker to you that I believe in these truths from the Bible don't be surprised. :) These doctrines of sanctification and justification and the trinity are precious to me and I believe important for every believer to understand. I pray the Lord would speak and not me in this post.
God bless you all and if you have any thoughts on this please comment. Maybe the Lord has taught you this about your own testimony as well? You can also email me too at ra.stricker@gmail.com.
Blessings,

Blessings,

A Birthday Alternative to Cake (tart!)
Hey Ya'll!
My sister Bethany had a birthday in September and I decided to make her a gluten free and sugar free alternative to a birthday cake. I thought to myself what would sound good and taste yummy for a b-day celebration that was just as good as cake?
Then the idea came to my head, why not do a fruit pudding tart?! I had always dreamed of making some small personal tarts for myself and friends and family, but there was never an occasion. Now was my chance.
So I went to the dictionary/resource of all resources Google. :) I Googled fruit tart and up came this lovely blog. Then I wanted to do an arrangement of fruit on top that was different than her lovely tart. It was pretty, but I did not have raspberries and I wanted to use the fruit we had in the freezer and fridge. I wanted to be frugal and not have to go to the grocery to buy anything and I did not have to.
So once again I went to Mr. Google and found some fun pictures for inspiration. Yes I know I should start using Pinterest and I might have found something even more epic, but alas I do not want to succumb myself to the temptation to be addicted to that lovely attraction. Although it sounds lovely, it could turn into a not so lovely addiction for me. ;) I regress.
Anyways, so I found this, this , this, this, and this to be very inspiring and helpful in figuring what design I wanted to do with the fruit I already had available.
Here are a few pictures of the 3 different tarts I made over the course of two different days of celebrating.
My dad even thought they were delicious and so did the birthday gal and my mother. We were all happy even without sugar or wheat in there. It was still tasty with a little honey in the vanilla pudding I made from scratch that filled the middle.
I used the crust recipe from the Gluten free fix blog and I used the Creamy vanilla pudding recipe from the Heavenly Homemakers blog. Both are so so so yummy! I substituted the almond meal flour in the crust for raw almonds, which I just chopped up into fine flour in our Vitamix. I also substituted honey instead of sucanat in the pudding since we are doing sugar free tarts. You really should make them sometime with or without the sugar. ;)
God bless,
Rebecca

I Got the Sun In The Morning
Yes I am posting for the second time today because I am that cool. ;) I had to share a music video of me singing for once since I never seem to. Enjoy! yes I am not perfect, I am not a professional, and please keep the criticism and critiques positive and encouraging. Thanks!
God bless! I love to sing so please don't crush me with rude remarks if you don't like my interpretation of the song. Thanks! Just say your suggestions for how to improve my singing, not just saying you are terrible and thats it. ;)
